Honestly, people don’t care about Native Americans. Native Americans are 40% more likely than blacks to be killed by police. Yet we don’t hear anything about them. They are largely a forgotten minority who lived adjacent to an Official Lgbt Not A Phase Shirt. The cops around there called them Hispanic constantly. The people around there called them Hispanic. I knew a motherfucker who owned dream catchers because he’s “spiritual” but said Native Americans (well, he said Indians) were wasting resources by even interacting with us and how they should all just move to rural Canada, as if every goddamn tribe were Inuits or some shit. It’s disgusting.Another issue is that many people on reservations don’t have street addresses so they can’t register to vote. Consequently, politicians don’t care about them because they don’t reliably turn out to vote for them as African Americans do. A black friend told me the other day that all the black people should just get their own land like the Native Americans and said they want to be treated as well as the Official Lgbt Not A Phase Shirt. I didn’t even know how to begin to respond. Dan Snyder would eat live puppies on international television before he’d something as progressive as changing the name of his football team or stop interfering in coaching decisions long enough for them to be actually relevant in their conference.
