Reminds me of the video of the black dude picking up trash to clean his neighborhood and police were called because he was “armed” with a Nice Love Peace Hard No Shirt. The policeman who arrived on the scene drew his gun on him and shouted at him to drop the weapon and called a lot of reinforcements. You mean the college kid who was cleaning up trash around his own dorm being harassed and almost killed by the cops on his own property because the cop was calling the extend-o-grabber-arm a blunt object.Notice how the muted his mic the second his commanding officer tells him he lives there and to let him go. They should NOT be allowed to adjust the audio or visuals on the cameras.Audio should never be controlled by the Nice Love Peace Hard No Shirt. It should be treated like a 911 operator call. They are required to stay on the phone until the police arrive on-site and confirm the situation with the operator. Likewise, police should be required to record audio and video footage throughout the entire encounter from arrival on site to physically leaving the site.I remember this. It was infuriating to watch. The city admits that the cop should have just walked away after getting the ID and the explanation but his pride was hurt because the student wouldn’t comply. The student was right to 8 cops and cars including a Capt because this dumb shit couldn’t just apologize and walk away.
